A wave of joy and accomplishment filled the air today as 302 graduates from Kenya Coast National Polytechnic were honored in a memorable ceremony. A moment that not only celebrated individual success but also spotlighted the collective impact of skill-building initiatives in shaping brighter futures.

This graduation was not just an event. It was the culmination of dedication, resilience, and a shared commitment to empowering communities through education and opportunity.

Recognizing Experience, Rewarding Growth

Out of the total number, 54 individuals received Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certificates, marking a monumental achievement: their first-ever official qualification, a Level 3 certificate that holds recognition both locally and internationally.

These candidates had years of hands-on experience in their fields, and today, that experience was formally acknowledged. For many, this was more than a certificate. It was a symbol of validation, self-worth, and new possibilities, a chance to finally be seen, not just for what they’ve done, but for what they’re capable of achieving moving forward.

The remaining graduates received Upskilling certificates, which further enhanced their competencies within the tourism and hospitality industry. These certificates affirm their readiness to take on bigger roles, offer improved services, and compete effectively in both local and global job markets. In an industry that thrives on excellence, these graduates now have an added edge to thrive and grow.

A Collective Effort Behind the Success

This milestone would not have been possible without strong partnerships and institutional support. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Wote Technical Training Institute and Scott Christian University for graciously hosting the training and graduation sessions. Your commitment to supporting lifelong learning and career development is deeply appreciated.” Said Madam Jane Kariuki, Deputy Principal, Academics

“We also acknowledge the warm embrace and cooperation from both Machakos and Makueni County Governments. Their contribution in creating a conducive environment for this initiative, from mobilization to hosting, played a key role in making everything seamless and impactful.”

The Power of Support: Thank You, Tourism Fund

None of this would have happened without the generous support of the Tourism Fund, who fully sponsored the training program. The investment in human capital is shaping real lives and opening doors for so many. Thank you for believing in this cause and backing it with tangible resources that made learning accessible and empowering.

Looking Forward: Hope, Opportunity, and Confidence

As these graduates walk away with certificates in hand and heads held high, they carry with them not just new credentials, but new confidence. The tools they’ve acquired will not only help them secure employment or grow in their current roles, but also empower them to lead, innovate, and even mentor others.

“To all our graduates: this is just the beginning. You are now better equipped to navigate the job market, contribute meaningfully to your communities, and chase your dreams with renewed energy.”
